About Us
Cameraman / Steadicam Owner/Operator
Member of the Steadicam Operators Association (SOA)
Having graduated from Ravensbourne college where I studied Broadcast Operations and Production, (specialising in camera operation), I started my career with a short stint at a local TV station, before joining Tiffen Steadicam.
During my tenure at Tiffen, I was privileged to work extensively with Garrett Brown - the legendary Steadicam inventor, whom I was lucky enough to count as both a colleague and mentor.
At Tiffen I became a Steadicam instructor, teaching introductory courses all over Europe for organisations such as YLE Television in Finland, BBC Training and Development in the UK and Filmbase in Ireland. In addition I also fore filled the role of a technician servicing some of the mechanical components of the Steadicam rig such as gimbals, arms and stages.
Working at Tiffen ultimately took me all over the world, including to the Steadicam Factory in California for technical training, demonstrating the product in South Africa, and even shooting at the inaugural Abu Dhabi Grand Prix for Formula 1.
Operating has always been in my blood however, having gained my first experience at the tender age of 12 with an early video camera. To pursue my chosen career completely I eventually left Tiffen so that I could concentrate full time on working as a camera operator specialising in Steadicam.
As a consequence of what I believe is a capacity for hard work and reliability, my rapidly expanding portfolio now includes work on both short films, feature films, TV drama and music promos. See website for more details.
